Spotting Group Volkel is verheugd te kunnen mededelen dat wij welkom zijn op:

18 juli 2017 op RAF Mildenhall voor een basisbezoek.

We zijn welkom met minimaal 25 en maximaal 40 personen, inclusief begeleiders.

Het vervoer naar dit bezoek dien je zelf te regelen. Het is dus geen totaal georganiseerde reis door SG Volkel, zij regelen alleen het bezoek!! Natuurlijk kun je wel met anderen samen iets plannen en boeken.

Alleen de toegang en het vervoer op de basis
zal worden geregeld door Spotting Group Volkel.

Omdat wij voor het vervoer op de basis een bus zullen moeten huren zal er een financiële bijdrage worden gevraagd. Op het moment van schrijven is de hoogte van dat bedrag nog onbekend.

Wij hopen jullie te zien op 18 Juli a.s.

Hello!

Thank you for expressing an interest in a base tour of RAF Mildenhall. We are excited for your upcoming visit to RAF Mildenhall. As it may be your first visit, we would like to give you a few details about the upcoming event to ensure you are well prepared.

Your group size must have a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 40 guests. These numbers are to include your driver.

You are required to fill out the form below with a complete list of tour guests, including the driver, for security requirements. Unfortunately, the tour program is not suitable for children under the age of 13.

On the date of your tour, please arrive at the Visitor Control Center, located outside the main gate, in the vehicle that you describe below with a valid form of photo identification. This ID must be a government issued identification card, i.e. a passport or driver’s license.

The tour will include a visit to one of our Mission Support Units, a briefing from the 351st Air Refueling Squadron and ends with a tour of one of our KC-135 Stratotankers.



There are two options for lunch while on your tour:

1. The Base Exchange Food Court which gives multiple options to choose from including Taco Bell (Tex-Mex Style), Baskin Robins (Ice Cream), Bun-D (Salads & Wraps), Burger King, Pizza Hut and Dunkin Donuts. These establishments to take credit cards, Pound Sterling or the U.S. Dollar, but please be advised that you will receive American Currency back if you pay by cash.

2. The Galaxy Club catered lunch option. The menu for the establishment is located on the page below. If you select this option, we will need to know your selection and receive payment in the form of a sterling check at least one month prior to your tour date. Please bear in mind the menu is not a la carte and the choice made will apply to all those attending, the only exception being a vegetarian option. *Should your driver wish to be included at lunch, payment must be made in the same way.

3. Prefer to bring your own lunch? No problem!

Keep in mind that the entire group must choose the same location, all at the club or all at the food court. Unfortunately, late payment cannot be honored and any luncheon cancellations not refunded.

We are looking forward to showing our mission and providing you the opportunity to meet our Airmen. In order to allow the tour program to continue, we must not interfere with the mission daily requirements. We operate an

active military runway and as such, have very strict rules that must be followed at all times, for the safety of you, our Airmen and our nations.

Your safety and the safety of our Airmen are of the upmost importance to us. We are very proud of our mission and enjoy giving you the opportunity to meet our Airmen, but in order to allow the tour program to continue on our active military installation, we must adhere to the following base regulations.

• Photography: You are permitted to take photos in certain areas if desired. It’s very important that individuals only photograph the KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft assigned to the 100th Air Refueling Wing (distinguished by a large Square 'D' on the tail). You can take photos of the Airmen you meet, but please do not photograph any aircraft other than the KC-135 with a Square D. While on the bus please don’t take any photos out of the windows; there will be plenty of great photo opportunities at the static. (Note: If anyone in the group does not follow the rules their camera and/or photo equipment may be confiscated by security forces and any unauthorized photos deleted.)

• Visiting the flightline and KC-135: Please make sure you leave any items on the bus that may blow into the aircraft (i.e. notebooks, papers, bags, hats, umbrellas or wigs are not permitted on the flightline at any time.) There are safety lines around the aircraft for tour participants, and our Airmen's safety. It is imperative that you adhere to the rules your escort give you prior to departing the bus onto the flightline.

• Transitioning: Please remain with your group and stay with your tour guides at all times.

Below is the document that we will need back at least 6 weeks in advance in order the process of getting you on base goes smoothly.

Please note, due to world events and operational requirements, we may be required to cancel, parts of or the entirety your tour at short notice.
